Leg is a real company that provides end customers with goods or services (a university, insurance provider, dealer, doctor, carrier, agent, etc.). In other words, a leg is a buyer’s buyer. Each leg can buy leads from several buyers.
In shared sales model, it is important to prevent selling a shared lead multiple times to the same carrier or agent. For this purpose, unique leg names are specified for each shared campaign, which allows grouping several campaigns under the same leg name.
Each vertical has Num Slots field configured by PX managers, which shows how many times the lead can be sold to different legs (5 as maximum).
Leg Name is mandatory for all shared campaigns. You can also configure Hashed Leg Name depending on the needs of the particular buyer.
How Hashed Leg Name Is Configured
PX platform also supports using hashed leg name, which is optional. Some lead exchange platforms use hashed fields for what we call legs. It is easier for buyers to use one format over all platforms, from which they buy leads.
For example, in Home Security vertical, hashed leg name is usually the MD5 hash of the phone number, but fields and hashing algorithms vary depending on vertical and lead generation platform.
If the buyer wants to use a hashed value as a leg, specify it in Hashed Leg Name field in Campaign Settings:
