Buyer Tiers feature allows prioritizing campaigns by ranking them using six specific tiers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 0).
What Buyer Tiers Mean
When a lead is posted into PX, it is routed to the campaign. The campaign, to which the lead gets routed is determined with the goal in mind of optimizing your profit. Many factors, including who is eligible for distribution, bid price, etc. are considered.
However, certain campaigns can be prioritized manually by assigning them to buyer tiers. Campaigns assigned to tiers are prioritized in the following order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0.
It is not recommended to set buyer tier to 0, unless special cases are considered. Information about this tier is available by request.
Tiers are handled in sequence, meaning that leads are presented to campaigns with Buyer Tier 1 first. If the lead is not bought by any campaign in Tier 1, it is presented to campaigns with Buyer Tier 2 and progresses through the rest of the tiers.
If you do not utilize the buyer tiers feature in your PX, all buyers will have a default tier value set to 1, meaning no campaign is prioritized over another across your account.
For example, there are two identical buyers, both with Daily Caps of 5 leads per day. Let's set buyer 1 tier to 1 and buyer 2 tier to 2. Then, if there are only 8 of the leads generated that day are eligible for distribution to these two buyers, buyer 1 will receive 5 leads, and buyer 2 will receive the remaining 3 leads (if we assume that both buyers buy all leads they are offered).
How to Manage Buyer Tiers
Buyer Tiers are configured on the campaign level. To assign the campaign to one of the tiers, follow these instructions:
1. Log in to your PX and go to Campaigns.
2. Find the desired campaign and click Action -> Campaign Settings:
3. Navigate to Commercial section and click the pencil icon to edit it.
4. Assign the campaign to one of the tiers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 0) using Buyer Tier drop-down menu.
Save your changes.
In the process of creating a new campaign, buyer tier is specified within the setup.
