Sometimes buyer specifications contain value formats that are not listed in standard PX options. For this case, there is custom value formatting for phone numbers, dates and VIN numbers (in Auto verticals).
Custom Phone Number Format
There are two cases when custom phone number formatting is used:
- the format type in buyer specification is different from PX standard format types;
- it is necessary to hide some digits of the phone for security reasons.
When the type of the phone format in buyer specification is different from PX standard format types from the Phone Format drop-down menu on the Mapping Panel:
In this case, Custom Phone Format field is used to specify the necessary format. Click Phone Format FAQ in the Mapping Panel to see the detailed description of possible formatting:
Example 1. Buyer specification requires sending phone numbers in the following format: 10 digits, 3 digits for Phone Area Code in brackets (), no spaces. According to the FAQ, format in PX will look like this:
Example 2. Buyer specification requires sending last 4 digits of the phone number in the ping request. According to the FAQ, the format in PX will look like this:
Custom Date Format
There are default PX format types listed the Date Format drop-down menu on the Mapping Panel:
Sometimes the type of the date format in buyer specification is different from these formats. In this case, Custom Date Format field is used to specify the necessary format. Click Date Format FAQ in the Mapping Panel to see the detailed description of possible formatting:
Example 1. Buyer specification requires dates to be sent in YYYY-MM-DD format. According to the FAQ, this format in PX will look like this:
Example 2. Buyer specification requires sending Lead Creation Date in YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss format. According to the FAQ, this format in PX will look like this:
By default, Lead Creation Date is sent in yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss format. If you change this format, make sure you indicate hours, minutes and seconds in Custom Date Format field according to Date Format FAQ. If one of default PX formats is selected, no information about the Lead creation time will be sent:
Custom VIN format
VIN (vehicle identification number) is a unique code, used by the automotive industry to identify individual vehicles (used in Auto Vertical).
There are default PX format types listed the VIN Format drop down menu on the Mapping Panel:

Example. The following field is required in buyer specification:
vehicle1_vin - the Vehicle Identification Number, e.g. '1ACBC535*B*******'.
On the Mapping Panel, enter the necessary format to Custom VIN Format field:
